What Is Mirai Taste?

Mirai Taste is a Japanese learning and cultural community created by an international team of Japanese and foreign members based in Asakusa, one of Tokyo’s most traditional neighborhoods.

We created Mirai Taste because we understand both sides of life in Japan.

Some of our team members are Japanese and have worked with international people for many years. Others are foreigners who have personally experienced the challenges of living, working, and adapting to life in Japan.

Together, we want to help Japan newcomers, foreign residents, and Japanese learners study Japanese in a way that makes daily life and professional life easier from the start.

Learning Japanese is a long journey, and Japanese culture can be difficult to understand alone. Mirai Taste is here to be a helping hand.

What to Expect from This Trial Lesson

This free trial lesson is open to all Japanese levels.

Because Mirai Taste will offer different class levels in the future, this trial lesson will give you a small sample of each type of class, so you can experience our learning style before joining a regular subscription course.

During the lesson, everyone will have the chance to practice speaking Japanese in a friendly and relaxed atmosphere.

First, we will start with a beginner-friendly lesson on how to introduce yourself in Japanese. This is useful for anyone who wants to meet Japanese people, make new connections, or feel more confident when speaking for the first time.

Next, we will move into basic daily life conversation. Have you ever wanted to order at a konbini, café, or Starbucks completely in Japanese? This part of the lesson will help you learn simple and practical phrases you can use in real daily situations.

Finally, we will introduce a sample of business Japanese for people who want to communicate more smoothly in a Japanese work environment. You will learn useful points that textbooks often do not explain about daily office communication in Japan.

This trial lesson is not about being perfect.

It is about trying, speaking, learning something useful, and experiencing how Mirai Taste can support your Japanese journey from daily life to business settings.

Do I Need a Certain Japanese Level?

No, there is no level requirement for this trial lesson.

This is an introduction lesson, so we welcome learners of all levels.

In the future, Mirai Taste lessons will be divided by level, but for this free trial lesson, everyone is welcome. Please do not worry about your Japanese level.

Meet Our Teachers

Itaya-sensei aka "Ako" sensei

Itaya-sensei is a Japanese language teacher with a truly international background.

After graduating from university, she worked at Sony Corporation in the International Business Division, where she created advertising and marketing materials for overseas markets.

She has also lived in Italy, Puerto Rico, Brazil, Argentina, and the United States, spending a total of 26 years abroad. Through these experiences, she gained a deep understanding of different cultures, international communication, and the challenges of living in another country.

After returning to Japan, she worked in international trade for an Italian fashion import company and also contributed Italian voice translation for the NHK program The World is Full of Things We Want.

Today, she teaches Japanese to international students from around the world at Human Academy Japanese Language School.

Her lessons are practical, warm, and easy to understand. She helps learners build confidence while also understanding the beauty of Japanese language and culture.

Naoko-sensei

Naoko-sensei has worked for nearly 10 years with international team members in the IT and creative industries.

Through her work with people from many different countries, she realized that successful communication is not only about language. It is also about understanding culture, values, work styles, and how people think.

Naoko-sensei supports people who want to work in Japan, or who are already working here, so they can enjoy a richer and more fulfilling life in Japan.

In her lessons, you can learn not only Japanese, but also practical communication styles and cultural understanding that are useful when working with Japanese people.

She is also a company representative, managing both Sugar Taste Co., Ltd. in Tokyo and Tokyo Taste LTD. in Dhaka, Bangladesh.

With her background in education, childcare, creative work, international teamwork, and global travel, Naoko-sensei teaches in a kind and easy-to-understand way.

Beginners can feel comfortable joining her lessons.

In the future, we plan to host online and in-person events, cultural workshops in Tokyo, and opportunities for learners to connect with each other.

Our Japanese and international staff members will also be available during events to answer questions and give guidance about daily life, professional life, and communication in Japan.
